Hair
All dancers need to arrive at the recital venue with their hair secured in a bun.
(Hair crisis? Please arrive 20 minutes early and we’ll help).
There are many ways to make a bun. Choose what works best for your child’s hair and your comfort level. Donut buns (video) are great for beginners, but other options work well too:

Makeup (Optional)
Stage lights can wash out facial features, which is why makeup is a common practice in the dance world. For our younger dancers, it's completely optional! However, as dancers get older, we highly recommend it to help highlight their beautiful features on stage.
If you choose to use makeup, especially for the first time, we strongly suggest a trial run a few days before the recital. This helps avoid any last-minute surprises like allergies, sensitivities, or a mid-makeup meltdown!
Remember, the goal is natural enhancement. Think mascara, blush, lip stain, and eyeliner to accentuate those lovely features.
